Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
Chinese Medicine (CM) includes herbal and nutritional consultation, exercises, and lifestyle recommendations to treat/prevent illnesses and to optimize health. Acupuncture stimulates points on the body with sterile, single-use, filiform needles to treat pain, hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, sleep problems, and various other conditions. Needles are inserted and retained with the patient in a well-supported and restful position.
Payment is due at the time of service. An itemized superbill can be provided upon request for processing through an FSA/HSA or PPO-type insurance plan.
Cosmetic Acupuncture
Cosmetic acupuncture is available for the face and abdomen. In addition to improved aesthetics, patients report better sleep, mental clarity, mood, and digestion, because these treatments are designed to address the whole person, not just one's appearance. Results vary from person to person depending on age and lifestyle, but most patients notice changes to skin tone and fine lines after just three treatments. Deeper wrinkles will start to vanish after about six treatments, with lasting changes to complexion, skin texture and muscle tone after ten. Low-Level Laser Light Therapy (LLLT) is applied to optimize results.
A complimentary consultation is strongly recommended to discuss goals and expectations, before booking your first cosmetic treatment.
Herbal Consultation
Traditional Chinese herbal formulas are crafted to emphasize and harmonize functions of its constituent herbs, while minimizing any potential side effects. The Chinese herbal pharmacopeia includes hundreds of medicinal substances, which are mostly plants, but also minerals and some animal products. Traditional Chinese dietary theory takes into account food's flavor, thermal nature, preparation, and the timing of meals. Herbal prescriptions and nutritional recommendations will be given with sensitivity to the individual's lifestyle, dietary habits (eg, vegan, kosher), and current supplement/medication regimen.
Red Light Therapy
Low-level laser (light) therapy (LLLT) is used to treat a multitude of conditions that require stimulation of healing, relief of pain and inflammation, and restoration of function. Michelle M. Ching, L.Ac., offers LLLT via Celluma and Omnilux LED devices.
